Sculpture collection open storage room at Kadriorg Art Museum

The sculpture collection exhibited in the open storage room on the first floor of Kadriorg Art Museum in Tallinn provides an overview of Estonia’s historical interactions with Western European and Russian sculpture.

Sculpture forms a small but notable part of the Estonian Art Museum’s foreign art collection, though up until now, very little has been shown to the public. The collection consists of more than 250 works created outside Estonia from the 18th to the 20th centuries, and its core includes copies of classical sculptures and Soviet Russian art. Alongside portraits, the collection features examples of figural and decorative sculpture.

The open storage exhibition provides an in-depth look at sculpture art, introducing the main techniques and materials used.

The room is located on the first floor of the baroque palace built in the 18th century. It serves as an excellent addition to the permanent exhibition of the Kadriorg Art Museum on the palace’s second and third floors.

The exhibition can be visited without a museum ticket.
