Visit Estonia brings the city festival “Hooked on Estonia” to Rosendals Trädgård in Stockholm this May

On May 23, Rosendals Trädgård, at the heart of Djurgården in Stockholm, hosts Hooked on Estonia, a vibrant one-day festival, where food, music, design and culture come together in the lush surroundings of Djurgården. The city festival “Hooked On Estonia”, presented by Visit Estonia and held at Rosendals Trädgård with Tallink Silja Line and Tallinn Music Week as main partners, offers a chance to experience something a little different in the heart of Stockholm.

Free and open to everyone, Hooked on Estonia invites visitors to discover and experience a rare and immersive glimpse of a unique country that is fast becoming one of Europe’s most exciting travel destinations. Whether you’re a curious traveller, food lover, design enthusiast or simply looking for a new way to spend a spring day in the city, the festival offers an easy and engaging introduction to Estonia.

At the heart of the festival is Estonia’s fast-rising food scene, which has gained international attention with several restaurants featured in the Michelin Guide. Throughout the day, leading chefs including Jonas Bolling from Rosendals Trädgård, Lena Flaten from Flammans Skafferi and Daanius Aas from Hiis Restaurant come together to create a unique culinary experience.

Visitors can explore everything from forest-inspired flavours to modern cuisine and creative street food, paired with local beers, wines and innovative cocktails offering a taste of Estonia that is rarely experienced in Stockholm.

“We are incredibly excited to bring the energy and spirit of Estonia to Stockholm together with our partners. Hooked On Estonia is all about offering a unique opportunity for Stockholm to experience our country first hand. We want to inspire people to discover Estonia through flavours, creativity, music, design and culture, which are at the heart of our country as a destination”, says Kristiina Talisainen, Market Manager Sweden at Visit Estonia.

Beyond food, the festival showcases the full breadth of Estonian culture. Live music and performances, in collaboration with Tallinn Music Week, set the atmosphere throughout the day, while tastings and conversations offer insights into travel, sustainability and gastronomy. Curated pop-up spaces will also highlight Estonian design, craftsmanship and products, offering a glimpse of Estonia’s creative scene shaped by both tradition and innovation.

“At Rosendals Trädgård, everything begins with the garden and the season. To welcome Estonia’s flavours and expressions into our setting for a day is something we truly look forward to,” says Tin-Tin Jersild, CEO (Verksamhetsansvarig) at Rosendals Trädgård.

As travelling from Sweden to Estonia continues to grow steadily year by year, the destination is fast establishing itself as a favourite for city breaks, attracting increasing interest across all seasons. Just a one hour flight from Stockholm, or an overnight ferry connecting city centre to city centre, makes it an easy and convenient escape.

“At Tallink Silja Line, we are proud to connect Sweden and Estonia not only through travel, but through shared experiences. For over 20 years, we have operated the Stockholm–Tallinn route, bringing millions of passengers to each country. Hooked on Estonia reflects what we do: bringing people, cultures, and countries closer together. For our guests, the journey is part of the experience, with great food, entertainment, and relaxation before arriving ready to explore Estonia’s unique offering, while we continuously improve quality and sustainability,” says Piret Mürk-Dubout, CEO of Tallink Silja AB.
