KriKi special workshops: breastpins and dreamcatchers

Murru Prison Museum is a unique place where you can see and experience Estonia’s recent history. There are countless stories hidden between the walls of the prison, which operated between 1938 and 2012, some of which you can discover either with an audio guide or with a former prison officer who talks about life in a 1990s prison directly and honestly. You walk through prison cells, punishment areas, workspaces, and auxiliary rooms, and you get a sense of what life looked like behind closed doors.

If desired, you can also visit the prison area on your own – discover the sophisticated buildings and feel the specific atmosphere of the place at your own pace. The prison’s location makes it special – Rummu Quarry, whose turquoise water and submerged buildings create a surreal landscape. Here, history and nature meet in a way that will be remembered for a long time to come.

If you’re looking for an experience that’s more than a regular museum visit, come and discover Murru Prison, a place where the past speaks directly to you.
